Jarrod Boucher (rhymes with "voucher"), an applications support analyst in the Charlotte office, has been with the company since 2008. Enjoy this opportunity to get to know him better.
1. What five words best describe you at work?
Caring, curious, driven, organized and flexible
2. What do you do to relax?
I’ve been golfing quite a bit – with Michael Geitz, TJ Vinson, and other folks from the office. And like everyone else, I binge on Netflix and Hulu. (I see that they’ve brought back the series, 24, so that’s one I’ve got that bookmarked) I also do some woodworking. One of my biggest pieces is a desk I built about four years ago, in a two bedroom apartment. I’d cut out on the balcony and sand in the kitchen. My next project will be end tables for my sofa.
3. What’s your favorite book or movie?
You know, although I never really think of it as my “favorite,” I really like the movie Tin Cup. It’s about golf, of course, but there’s a lot more to it – well-written dialogue, a love interest, a buddy element, and an extended family dynamic. It’s my “go-to” when there’s nothing else to watch.
4. What are people surprised to learn about you?
When I tell people I’m color blind, I get some very interesting and comical reactions. I’m often surprised by what folks think they know about color blindness. Some people will say, “So you see in grayscale?” I have a lot of fun with comments like that.
5. What advice would you give a new TKXS employee?
For starters, ask questions, but diving deeper, I’d say, pay attention. It’s easy to fall into your own silo, but we cover a lot of different types of work here and that’s something that’s worked to my personal advantage. In the past 10 years, I’ve been a caller, a team lead, a campaign supervisor, and a data analyst. I’ve also had the opportunity to do some account management and marketing work. If you pay attention, you’ll see that TKXS has a lot to offer.
